The Kiln – Realizing the Fossil Free Industrial Transition

A kiln is a type of furnace, or an oven that produces extremely hot temperatures sufficient to complete different industrial processes. Traditionally, a kiln for burning limestone is heated up by coal and oil, which both releases CO2 and causes a dirty industrial process.

Our groundbreaking kiln uses renewable energy and creates clean quicklime while capturing the byproduct, CO2. One thing that makes this possible is the cyclone-shape of the kiln, which optimizes the process where limestone is heated up. But the real magic is in the plasma burner, which enables extremely precise and concentrated temperatures. Simply put: clean energy goes into the process, clean quicklime comes out, and zero CO2 is being released. The innovation has the potential to remove all emissions from quicklime production.

We call the technique Electric Arc Calciner (EAC), and it is here to revolutionize the industry.
